Booths was established in 1847 by Edwin Henry Booth who had one simple aim: to ‘sell the best food and drink available, in attractive shops, staffed with first class assistants’. The company still holds true to that vision today and has 29 stores located in the North of England.
I worked with the marketing team at Booths and brand consultants Smith&+Village to create a game-changing Christmas book, elevating it above the conventional supermarket Christmas brochure.
I applied a minimalist design approach that gave the photography maximum standout whilst still communicating the sales objectives of the marketing team, all in keeping with Booths’ award-winning corporate design style.
The usual Christmas graphic devices and garish sales flashes were avoided to give a high-end, luxurious feel that Booths customers could explore and enjoy, keeping the book on their shelves long after the pigs in blankets were forgotten.
With its beautiful stylised photography, illustrated covers in keeping with novels in book shops, high production values and recipes, the book became a national benchmark for Christmas communications, a customer favourite, and a way of ensuring that sales and profits rise year-on-year.
Whether you're a business or individual looking for a trusted and creative partner to work on a design project, or an agency in need of a fresh set of eyes or extra pair of hands, I'd love to hear from you.
