Take Note is an innovative initiative set up by two pioneering social entrepreneurs. Their mission is to help small arts organisations collaborate, enabling them to produce extraordinary work and ultimately achieve greater social impact.
When I met them they were still in the funding stage and wanted a brand identity that would appeal to investors, fit into the arts world, and express the core theme at the heart of their mission: facilitating collaboration.
I built a simple brand identity system, using linked crosses to represent the idea of collaboration. These crosses also form the two ‘T’s in the logo, creating a strong visual style that ties the elements together.
To explain to potential investors the idea and process of Take Note, I worked closely with the founders on a visual diagram to make the programme easy to follow.
Most recently, I have worked with Take Note on the design of a comprehensive ‘Collaboration Toolkit’ - a series of guides that inform and steer organisations along their collaborative journeys. To link all of the separate documents and give the Toolkit a strong identity of its own, I worked with the amazingly talented artist and illustrator Lara Harwood on a set of illustrations that brought the different stages of the journey to life.
“Kyn is a fantastic creative partner and collaborator. He really takes time to fully understand the concepts and ideas for which we need design support and responds to them in a way that adds dynamism, clarity, visual interest and accessibility. It's always exciting to work with Kyn and to see our ideas take on a vibrant visual identity which we could never have come up with ourselves.”
Whether you're a business or individual looking for a trusted and creative partner to work on a design project, or an agency in need of a fresh set of eyes or extra pair of hands, I'd love to hear from you.
